The Local Veterans Committee serves all those who have served, building community and strengthening veteran voices within the IBEW and throughout the entire electrical industry.
Local Veteran Committee Meeting
The Local Veterans Committee meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of each month (Union meeting night) at 5:30 pm upstairs in the meeting Hall.

https://www.houstonjatc.com/ The Houston JATC mission of the Houston Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee is to train and educate electrical and telecommunications workers and to provide the Electrical Construction Industry with the most highly trained and highly skilled workforce possible. The Electrical Training Center is operated as a non-profit organization and is registered as an Apprenticeship Training Program with the United States Department of Labor.

The first is providing transitioning service members and recently separated veterans the ability to reenter the civilian workforce in a high demand field that offers excellent earning potential. This helps VEEP accomplish its second goal, providing high quality electricians to an industry facing a major shortage of skilled labor.

VETS also assists veterans who have questions regarding Veterans’ Preference.
Helmets To Hardhats – SERVE YOUR COUNTRY, SECURE YOUR FUTURE, BUILDING NORTH AMERICA Helmets to Hardhats is a national, nonprofit program that connects transitioning active-duty military service members, veterans, National Guard and Reservists with skilled training and quality career opportunities in the construction industry.
Engage. Educate. Mobilize. (unionveterans.org) The Union Veterans Council brings working-class veterans together to speak out on the issues that impact us most, especially the need for good jobs and a strong, fully funded and staffed VA.
